What we’re about
https://KayakTripsAndTraining.com
Our group is for people who are interested in learning how to kayak but just do not know where to start. And for people who have a little experience but want to improve and get on the water more.
No boat? No problem, we have them. All necessary equipment is part of our package, We offer classes taught by American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructors with an emphasis on having fun while staying safe. Our sessions are not in a class room but are taught under the trees and on the river in your own personal floating work station. (a kayak of course)
We also guide fun adventure trips on southern water ways. All trips are lead by certified guides.
There is no age limitation on this sport, people are kayaking across the country and around the world from age 4 to 80! We will also be offering guided trips on various rivers throughout the year for folks who do not have boats or who just do not feel ready to paddle on their own.

See all- Okefenokee Platform Camping. April 8th to 10thOkefenokee Adventures, Folkston, GA$400.00
THIS TRIP IS SOLD OUT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE NOTIFIED ABOUT OUR NEXT ONE, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE. kayakclassesga@gmail.com
Our platform trips are kept small for your maximum enjoyment. Always less than 10 people on these trips including a minimum of two guides.
Many of you may have visited the Okefenokee in the past but if you have never camped in the middle of the swamp on a platform you have missed out. (No, gators do not attack us on the platforms.)
You are away from noise and light pollution. You will not believe how beautiful the night sky can be. And don't get me started on how magical the swamp is.
We will meet at 11:30 Tuesday morning in the snack bar at the main park entry in Folkston. We will have lunch then get loaded and be on the water around 12:30. We paddle 5.5 miles to the platform at Coffee Bay where we will spend our first night.
After the sun goes down you will have the opportunity to paddle in the dark if you so desire. The swamp is different at night.
Wednesday after breakfast we paddle about 4.5 miles to our next platform at Cedar Hammock.
Thursday, we have a short 3-mile paddle back to the cars. We will be off the water early enough for you to explore more of the park, see the museum and take in the board walk.
We provide a tent, a cot and meals. Yes, there will be HOT COFFEE every morning. You simply bring a change of clothes and a personal sleeping bag. In dry bags of course. More details will be mailed before the trip.
This trip is limited to 6 guests. As of today, March 9th, only 2 spots are left. Cost of the trip is $400 per person. If you need to rent a boat that is an additional $75.

- Memorial Day Weekend on the Hiwassee River, Class 2 fun in TennesseeReliance, Reliance, TN$350.00
For those returning, the house we usually stay in is no longer available. We are moving to a new house so this will be our first time staying there.
This weekend is for both paddlers and NON-PADDLERS.
There are a lot of activities in the area for non-paddlers.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read this event description ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE so you'll know what our rules and recommendations are. ******** READ BEFORE PAYING----------THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION***
This is a Class 2 river, but it is a great beginner class 2. The rapids all have great recovery pools below them in case of a swim.
If you are comfortable on Class 1, and think you are ready to move up then this is the ideal trip to try that. We do have a few sit on top whitewater boats if you don't think you are ready for a spray skirt. Check with me if you have any doubts about doing this trip. The outfitters also rent rafts and inflatable kayaks.
We are staying in a three-level house that has 7 bedrooms and 4 baths. Depending on registrations, you may be sharing a room, but NOT A BED. (Of course, couples will be in a private room.)
Cost is for the weekend. That includes a bed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, breakfast and Dinner Saturday, Breakfast and Dinner Sunday and breakfast on Monday. I will also have makings for sandwiches for lunch Saturday, Sunday and Monday. So that gets you three nights in the house plus 5 meals (and 3 lunches). Trust me, that is cheaper than staying in a local hotel and then driving down the road and eating in one of the local spots, and our food is better! If we get any rain, there is a large, covered porch. It really is a nice place to hang out with our tribe.
There are several price options
1st. Couple in a private room, king bed. $950.00 (1 available)
2nd. Couple in private room, queen bed. $900.00 (3 available)
3rd. Single, sleeping on bottom bed of bunkbed, $400.00 (3 available)
4th. Single, sleeping on upper bed of bunkbed, $350.00 (3 available)THIS IS A CLASS II RIVER. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO PADDLE A HARD KAYAK IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE PADDLING AT THIS LEVEL. YOU CAN PADDLE A REC BOAT IF YOU PREFER BUT HELMETS AND SPRAY SKIRTS ARE REQUIRED. I have extra helmets. Sit on tops boats are also fine on this river. We do have some non-paddlers who plan to take either rubber ducks or rafts down the river. If you have no interest in paddling, there is a lot to do in the area. Beautiful hiking and a winery you can check out.
THIS IS A FUN GUIDED TRIP, NOT A CLASS! We will be paddling Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Trips will be led by qualified guides.
Rental boats available. Contact us for details.
